If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Conceptual, Digital, Drawing, Installation, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture
I am...
A professional artist working in Vancouver. I operate a gallery as well as a large painting and digital printmaking studio in an industrial complex.
About my artwork
Describing my artwork is probably best left to those who have the capacity to do so. I'm a painter...not a writer. I do however steer clear of what Picasso described as "charm" and what's considered fashionable. I like to think my work has a relevance that has everything to do with timelessness and little to do with what is generally considered "art".
Artists I like
Lucien Freud, Hiro Yamagata, Titian, Pierre Alechinski, Fred Williams, Frank Auerbach, Anselm Kiefer, Picasso, Gerhard Richter, Joseph Beuys, Rembrandt, Jack Shadbolt, Sidney Nolan, Matisse, Chistian Boltanski, Rodin, Jean Dubuffet, Laszlo George, Joshua Nell, Michael Hallier, Brian Bradshaw, Leon Golub, Goya and many others...especially those who painted Lascaux and Altimera.
Interests
Diverse
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Haven't seen any lately. I live in Vancouver.
