If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Digital, Painting
I am...
I’m practising artist, leaving and working in London UK. Graduated from Middlesex University BA Fine Art in 2010 and instead of progressing to MA course I decided to set up an Art Gallery.
In March 2010 had my solo exhibition coincided with grand opening of my very own Tokarska Gallery, please follow the link to find out more: http://tokarskagallery.co.uk/news
Since then I’ve curated shows, managing gallery hire, selecting future exhibitors and even trying to start new project call “Drawing The Culture”. It is exciting venture and something that I thoroughly enjoy , more over still find time to paint. You are welcome to see some of my paintings here: http://tokarskagallery.co.uk/nadiya-tokarska

(currently limited to France, but I'll open it to UK galleries soon)
Hi Nadiya,
tnx for your comment at my work,
they are all in acrylic, most of the time it starts with a mood, pure feelings I want te express...because I believe it has to be possible to bring over human feelings in pure abstraction, but also little figurativ works, but that's only the basis for my paintings.
When I make other artworks it has to consist always on a conceptuel basis
most of the time themes like realitie, dualitie and politics are the main triggers in my work.
all the best
Hi Nadiya, i always do a fairly detailed full colour underpainting in acrylic, especially if the finished colour is translucent like red or blue, i try to get no surface texture to the end result so it doesnt detract from the image. Most of my ideas are usually based on urban sub culture, sometimes people/dogs that have passed my way, You where right with the humour aspect, it helps to balance the darker side of the subject, i try to avoid preaching in my paintings as i aint no social worker for societies problems, merely an onlooker.
All the best
Tony
Hi Nadiya, i love all exhibitions, group, solo open, its the ending of all the work you put in.I dont have any costs with the rebecca hossack gallery, as they take that out with commission from sales, all i did was send out e-mails with photos of my work attached, to all the galleries that i thought may have suited my style, try to find galleries that represent the sort of work you produce.I am represented by the gallery so i am tied as to where i can show my work.
Thanks for your interest and all the best at university,
Tony
