During my career I have explored the use of various media, having initially worked with small scale sculptural assemblage before becoming increasingly fascinated by the possibilities of digital cameras and Photoshop in the 1990s. The last three years have seen a return to my sculptural practice, although I now work at a much wider range of scales than in my earlier work. I have also sought to retain the taste for simplicity and immediacy that I gained from working with digital imaging technology in these new assemblages and installations.
Most of the sound pieces on this page also sprung from the same desire to re-arrange materials which are 'close at hand' that drives my sculpture, although in this case the materials were the various standard 'alert' sounds supplied with Windows XP.

TK is such a cool gallery, in a perfect spot with those windows & a really interesting space to work with, never mind the veggie cafe & everything else at The Forest!
just found your comment as well.
Looking forward to the Edinburgh Festivals again this year!
Cheers

Think your work has an elegant, complex simplicity to it, the soundworks add an extra dimension.
Hope to see them in reality sometime!

Cheers to you,

Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed looking at your assemblage work. The most exciting sculptural work that I've seen for ages. I am interested as although I use found objects in my own practice they are usually worked into a constructed piece of sculpture.
Yeah it was a good weekend and I will of course stay in touch, oh and have you still got your head and hands engaged in text mode lol. I will post some more work soon. How did Lincoln go, sorry I could not attend. Steve
By the way on a slide show yet I saw a couple outstanding works....I will take a stroll and comment accordingly.
A huge embrace!!
long time no talk. I really miss some of the dry commentary you gave me about a year ago now. In the cases of my collage paintings that style of commentary helped me to look at things with a critical eye. As Mik Godley stated I have begun to explore the more minimal statement using simple forms and colour formats to get the gut instinct message across.
Ive got 5 new paintings up - check them out and tell me your thoughts.
I hope you are doing well.
My best rgards from Lukke Gilliam
cheers
