- Wakula – Mac’s prints are both rich in texture and full of symbolic detail. Her series of linocuts depict spirited dancers who celebrate life and its dynamic energy. She combines thick heavy black lines with splashes of vivid reds to symbolize elation, movement and vitality.
“In the pairs of women in red dresses, black hair whipping over their faces, dance wildly across the paper, waving bright scarves or the shoes they have taken off so as to feel the earth beneath their feet. They glory in their physicality, limbs askew, asking for nothing more than joy in the moment.” [Susan Knight]
