Last day of the exhibit, Central Asian work, I wonder what separates us here from them, what is culturally significant, wonder what it was that I left behind when I moved here almost thirty years ago, what indicators have been erased, what do I do with my tribal customs in New Englandland? All scrubbed up and presentable, all washed up and polite, the language of my ancestors chirping inside me, the Eastern lessons drummed in my head. The native gets restless, once in a while.
