If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Sculpture
I am...
A metalsmith. I love nothing more than hanging out hitting copper with a hammer. Me and Copper, we spend a lot of time together
About my artwork
Having made friends with copper myself, I am now comfortable enough with it to evoke in it the natural landscape from which it emerged. From bold pieces, shouting of earthquakes, to secretive types whispering of quiet fields rustling with grass, the range of jewelry calls up all the world. Every piece I create is entirely different from every other piece I have ever created. Each has their own personality, as organic and hard to define as each of your friends.
Artists I like
Ann Hamilton is a personal favorite. Sarah Sze ( sp?). Italo Calvinois my favorite author ( that counts!) and The Great Work s Toy Theatre Company recently did a production of parts of Marco Valdo that was sufficiently brilliant that they might make it in here, too. I just found this guy through etsy that paints simple black line drawings onto mugs- they're gorgeous. I don't actually know this person's name, but his business is called Bailey Doesn't Bark. I'll have to look into it more. I could keep going, I'm sure.
Interests
I love the woods, and quiet swimming holes. Sledding is good in the winter, though I'm still looking for a good hill thats not a hike from my house. I usually leave the country at least once a year (last year, was Mali, this year perhaps the Amazon?)
What exhibitions are good at the moment?
Ah.... I don't know. Also, I don't know where the center of the art world is. Nope, I sure don't.

Hello! Thanks for your comment. I've had fun looking through your pictures - I particularly love (I really love) the bracelet with the feather running through it - a great idea and it really works well. Also your masks are pretty spectacular. Well I'll pop in some more pics that'll explain the polar bear better at some point.
Very interesting work, please show us some more here!
Hope you enjoy the site. Also, check out ArtReview:Digital -- it's ArtReview magazine on your screen every month, and it's FREE
