I am...
John Glover is an award winning, specialist garden photographer selling photographs to most of the leading book, magazine, calender and greeting card publishers around the world.
About my artwork
Although rooted in Fine Art, almost all of my photos are commercial in some way. Having been both a painter and photographer, I have no problem with seeing photography as an art form equal to that of any other. We all take photos so tend to dismiss photography as a lesser medium but the energy and creativity required to make great photos is equivalent to that required to make good work any other form of Art.

Many people mistake lots of my photos for paintings. Having studied composition in great detail, this comes so naturally to me when I frame a photo that, for example, my landscapes often become the sort of images that a traditional painter might make.

I have a Fine Art section on my website selling limited edition prints. Some of the work in that section was made solely from a Fine Art perspective. However many have also been bought for use in books and magazines and I love that lack of distinction between Fine and Commercial Art.
Artists I like
James Turrell. Andy Goldsworthy. Ansel Adams. Cartier Bresson. Picasso. Michaelangelo. George Hurrell. Ctndy Sherman. Anish Kapoor. Goya. Matisse. all the unknown artists of sacred works who thought the work more important than them. Rhembrandt.
Interests
love. my family. gardens and gardening. contemporary dance. too much music to even begin to list. meditation. spirituality not religion. meadows and the environment. art in all its forms.

thank you Giulio, that is very kind of you. Some of my photos appear in Italian garden magazines, but the best publication to see them is the book "Gardens For The Soul' by Pamela Woods. Maybe you could order it from your library.

I like your painting too very much.

do we know each other from another life?
Does the word "Crass" have any special meaning to you. Or is there more than one John Glover?
Do tell.
