yeah it doesn't matter if it doesn't dry completely underneath the top layer. You'll see that a thick painting the paint underneath the top layer might move after you hang it up on a wall and starts wrinkling up. I like enjoy playing around with it and how it reacts to other paints. Thanks for the question.
I really enjoy the work of yours that I've looked at as well.
It takes forever to dry but the end result is pretty sweet it feels like skin sort of. If you layer it thick enough not all of it will dry underneath the top layer.
Hi Izolda, A thousand pardons for my late reply. Hope you are very well! The last weeks I have´nt had time to visit my sites. Hope you found a very good solution for your big canvases meanwhile? Naturally I know all this problems and for this reason today I buy the finished frameworks. Have a nice time, Christian
You may like these "Noggin the Nogg" animations from Youtube that I grew up with in England during the 1960's - they have a similar magic, sometimes quite "dark" and surreal in parts. This one is a kind of introduction.
I saw a couple of clips from your recommendation - a bit scary. I'll get back to them later - I'd better get on with some work now: I've too many deadlines!
I'm very interested in your comments on Silesia, why you left, etc... but must get on with work now
Cheers, Mik
I've just seen a couple of short clips from Jan Švankmajer's "Alice" on Youtube. Thank you - I very much liked them - I'll search out some more another day - it's too late tonight.
But thanks again - I like finding new things - or at least new to me, if not actually new.
Cheers, Mik
Hello Izolda,
I enjoyed watching your animations - they reminded me of old central European black and white animations I used to see as a child on the television - especially when I visited family in Germany - they have a bit of that magic. Perhaps they were the influences you mention? Jan Švankmajer - perhaps I should Google the name? The Bach piece is good too - more painterly.
You have good expressionist drawings too - they must have been fun to make! Greetings from Virtual Silesia - Division UK (aka Mik)
Really convincing and outstanding works Izolda!!! Absolute stunning! And yes I love the confusion in my workroom. That´s healthful :)) Hope you move forward with all you take in hand and I hope you like The Hague?
With my very best wishes and wonderful days, Christian
