About my artwork: Irina Gabianis concepts:
Oriental philosophy considers our consciousness as divided into two polarities, such as masculine (+) and feminine (-), rational and emotional, good and bad, microcosm and macrocosm, finite and infinite, time and eternity. By putting these two opposites together one can reach the balance, harmony and peace within oneself, which is –in accordance with this philosophy- the aim of each human being….

…Since we all live in the physical, dualistic system, which has and is based on its own rules (rules which force us continuously to distinguish between good and bad, negative and positive etc.), every one of us, whether we like it or not, abides by these rules and is a kind of a “slave” of them. If we want to get free from this slavery, we need to step out from this “game of the dual system”.

Reaching this state and level of freedom would be possible only for “balanced persons”, who merge both (+) and (-) polarities within themselves. Such a person would not depend any more on the rules of the dual system and would be free from them.
