“When I was little I couldn’t draw well, so I had fun cutting out pictures and assembling the pieces together, I didn’t know it yet but I was making photomontage…”
Soviet aesthetics (low angle shots)

On the docks, my paternal grandfather (port crane mechanic) took me to see the ships departing to destinations unknown to me… On the bridge, little persons seen from below were throwing badges bearing the symbols of glory or Soviet ones; rockets and stars of any known form…
On the mantelpiece of my maternal grandfather (Ouessant mariner from Hungary) sat a tanker he had completely built by himself; the slightest details were respected … I spent long moments admiring him… On the deck, seen from below little inanimate persons held their position, night and day, straight and proud…

Having scarcely shared with my distant father (like many other people), I “borrowed” my family to set it on canvas and imagined myself speaking that peculiar way like Jean Gabin knocking out people like Lino Ventura, gunning down as Clint Eastwood (now as Anthony Wong), mincing the Bernard Blier’s way, impressing like Louis Jouvet, being absent-minded like Jacques Tati, seducing like Marcello Mastroianni, provoking like Jean Yann or talking nonsense like the Monty Pythons…

Walking on the beach on pebbles used by the grey sea is rough, yet undertakings are constructive. The sound of foghorns in the faraway are an invitation to misty lands. Your only thought is to embark and slide away aboard ferries, and to get drunk at duty-frees. Those transient visions have the horizon for reference point.. Sea sprays are washed up on my face, I ride the next wave and scour bars till my soul is drowned.

From Music to image 96' to 10'
In the nineties, as an author-singer in Moogon ( a metal-funk music group), I cut across France for 6 years (tours, studio recording, LPs) and accidentally became an actor in a SF short-film (Orbital tango) , which made me realise an old dream from my childhood: "going into the space", even though that space was only numerical. With the acquisition of a computer I began realising my first animations, learning in the meantime technics of computer graphics naturally leading to numerical photomontage.
Since 2008 I' ve done a part time job on my computer, so as to use my scalpel, cissors, glue-sticks and pens... coming back to roots...
