About my artwork
‘Because my discipline within fine art is printmaking, I naturally use a lot of printmaking techniques in my work, but I also incorporate paint and collage.
My subject matter varies, as I like to keep my work lively, fresh and interesting. The odd and quirky things in life amuse and inspire me, as do the emotions which creep up on us unexpectedly, caused by everyday exchanges with the world around us.
I have been using text within my visual artwork for some time. I use it, not only to provide the viewer a little insight into the narrative which I have created, but also to allow them the first step into creating their own narrative. My use of the written word has evolved, not just for its literary meaning, but also for its aesthetic value. Handwriting, printed text and electronic text, all have their own unique and fascinating patterning which goes beyond heir literary meaning.’
Artists I like
Rauschenberg, Miro, Klee, Hokney, Warhol.........too many others to list or remember
Interests
almost everything, especially if it is odd or quirky...but definately not sport!!!!!
