I am...
I was born in Italy in 1982 and graduated with a degree in Architecture in 2001. Soon after, I found that my real vocation was to be an artist.
Since then, I have started to work with different materials and media, in order to meet and reveal the instinctive truth of my feelings.
The place where I used to live at the time has had a considerable influence on how I perceive and produce my works now. For instance, since I moved to London, where I am working at the moment, I have been experienced by the city as a vital and economic hub.
About my artwork
I am extremely interested in human behavior and it's subconscious; I like to discover the hidden place where we all cover our feelings and show it on canvas or through sculpture. My aim is to bring out the viewers real state of mind, at the time, about the subject I am presenting. This human behavior and his attitude has lead me to open myself to the psychologies subject.
At this very moment I am fascinated by wood as a material to work with, as I find very interesting its fibrous tissue and texture; especially when its surface is affected by a knot, creating an artistic effect within imperfection.
I do not actually work the wood itself, because I like to keep it at its raw state with its original aesthetic; I rather work around its body employing different ranges of material. This process becomes a rite, which makes me feel more closely connected to it, I feel like my art must adapt its nature, and not the other way around. I am doing so because my aim is to switch the process in which humans are adapting the nature to themselves, as it has always been the case.
