born 1962, Iceland and live and work in Reykjavík, Iceland.
I´m member of The Associaton Of Icelandic Artists - SÍM and of The Living
Art Museum, Reykjavík.
About my artwork
My living environment impress me as a smell from the kitchen, a print on a wall, attitudes, people, happiness, sorrow.... my personal life, experiences, inspiration, opinions, creativity, feelings,...I never use anything directly even thought it seems to be so. I put my own inspiration into the hands of the viewers so it can be analyzed further for new feelings, thoughts ....
Since 2006 mine inspiration has also been from the line "All you need is love" from John Lennon's tune, wich is connected to my environment and my personal life, experiences, inspiration, opinions, creativity, feelings,...,
I work both with the subjective and objective world. I use letters, words, images, materials itself ... I use it as a reflection of my own thoughts and put it into the hands of the viewers for further exploration.
My art is a combination of paintings, drawings and installations...
The main concept in my work is the life itself, with all it’s multiplicity. Reality, dreams, feelings, imagination, thoughts, questions, meditation...past, present and future.
Artists I like
just to name few.....Miro, Schiele, Picasso, Dalí, Gaugin, Manet, Van Gogh, klee, Matisse, Rothko, Warhol, Rausenberg, Oldenburg, Bacon, Gaudí, Vasulka, Erró. Tapies, Ólafur Elíasson, Erna G.S. .....
Hello Eva thank you for the add. This is good that I can see your slide show as a type. Hitting the hay pretty soon so thinking what to ask is not my food for thought currently. Rather what must be done or what i should be doing tomorrow in a pep talk kinda way to sort stuff out.
It is the drawing I am most interested in. The build up of markings and rubbing onto the surface with graphite. I have not made a mark in in my sketch book with a pencil for a month I really should play about again abit more. My ink pen i used all the time because it is in my pocket always. Although it is hand for writing I don't get the differences in pressure. You've reminded me that I should think about that too. tar very much
