As an artist my studio practice is influenced by children’s art and the urban environment. I am concerned with issues relating to modern society, religion and nature. By translating issues concerned to icons and symbols my work begins to construct narrative terms.
There is a synthesis between naïve mark making, child like imagery and latent symbolism. I depict my reality through mark making, the innocence in my work is a metaphor for the naivety of modern society, and how it is dislocated from what is going on around them.
Artists I like
Jean Michel Basquiat,De Kooning,Billy Childish,Tracy Emin, Franz Kline, Matisse, Andy Warhol, Hunderwasser, Neil Shawcross, Jeff koons, Andy Goldsworthy, Barbara Kruger, Paul Klee, Barbara Hepworth, Grayson Perry
