My work is a constant experimentation with new materials, processes and ideas. I strive to bring small details and concepts of daily life to the sharper focus. My pieces often resonate with themes of a political or sociological nature, placing meaning in my work is very important to me.
My studio usually contains several works in process concurrently; often pieces get reviewed and reworked, sometimes over extended periods of time. I feel this synergistic energy helps me cultivate creativity and solidify ideas. I tend to keep a highly critical eye on my work, for better or worse. Sometimes the largest challenge for me is making that declaration… “it’s done”.
I love learning about and reading about art history and am constantly inspired by the art and artists of the modern period. I enjoy creating homage works, these are pieces that reinterpret the style of modern masters in my own way. I also find inspiration everywhere around me; from people, to Mother Nature, or perhaps even a garbage dumpster. I also adore irony.
Some of my favorite media are: acrylics, oils, inks, encaustic, photography, collage, assemblage, ceramics, sculpture, graphite, and found objects, or all of the above arranged together. I love to put things together in unexpected ways, break rules and stretch boundaries.
Artists I like
Bruce conner, Marcel Duchamp, Sophie Calle, Anne Hamilton, Jean Lowe, Maya Lin, Matisse, Picasso, Magritte, Piet Mondrian..... etc....etc.....
Interests
Art History, Gallery hopping, brooding and sulking, movies, taking random photographs of weird things.

I love the textures in your collages/assemblages, and the umbrella installation 'an examination of political security' is a very effective piece of political art.
Thanks for your invite and interest in the dresses - lovely to get feed back on work that is so new - your work is very interesting - we share a very similar thinking towards our work. warm regards
