About my artwork
The contingency of the creative act and the potential of repetition are core concerns of my practice. Going beyond the simple appropriation of material as a form of remixing or a questioning of authorship, my work is an investigation into the repetition of the image, of gestures and of plays of memory and continuous renegotiation with the world around us. The work enquires how important markers in the history of art are affected by their mediation through photographic reproduction, and by an engaged viewership.
