If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?: Painting, Photography

I am...: an ordinary bloke , from working class roots , living in the uk swimming against the tide of bullshit feed to us by the government ,media, and the rules of society....ok boarderline anarchist i may be.

About my artwork: not done to much as I'm just getting in to it. I don't think I had to have gone to art colledge to produce art. There's all sorts of art and all sorts of artists....and all sorts of tastes in the art loving public. You might not like my stuff , but some one else will......same can be said for most art on this site.

Artists I like: I saw some pic by Turner a boat in a storm, don't know the title.The picture had a stormy darkness and turmoil in it....which touched a cord. Like a good tune in music , i know it when I hear it. And art for me is like that on a visual level..I like what I see, and I see what I like. Banksey the street artist. HR gieger ,ann burry her art is on this site, The angel of the North by Anthony gormley ....Damian Hursts pickled wild life.

Interests: movies , free thinkers,reading ,punk , metal, ska , soul, rock n roll music. live comedians. The counrty side , fishing , growing veg'. laughing my arse off. playing guitar(badly). picking my nose , scratching my arse and sticking two fingers up to authority.

What exhibitions are good at the moment?: NOt been to any. Been to the Tate modern...liked the pop art....some funny old crap in there....metal turd sculptures had me laughing...where there's muck there is brass....I thought the Urinals as art was taking the piss a bit though! Still it's all about being the first to do it so my hats off to them.

The centre of the artworld is: nowhere and everywhere

i have been accused of photo shopping some of my pics...well what crap! if you go to the lake district ,and are lucky to have good weather the oppertunaties for good photos are boundless. I used a few differen't colour photo filter settings and my judgement to get some interesting pics.

I enjoy sites like this as there's a lot of cool people getting of there arses and doing imagnative art.....instead of just talking about doing something. I will add that i don't like everything on here...but each to their own.

You seem comfortable with the camera and maybe your work could develop this way. You're right, you don't have to go to art college to produce art but tuition can save you a lot of time on the learning curve and help you discover sooner exactly where you want your work to go. I think it could be an interesting development so please keep in touch. Oh and trust me, there's nothing wrong with photoshopping your work. Ha!
