If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?
Sculpture
I am...
My primary focus is the visual kinetics of sculpture

Open air always provides a blank canvas for movement of shape and color. Architectural lines and the motion of nature are primary inspiration for my work. My designs come from three basic mindsets: mechanical, organic, or a combination of the two. The design goal is building the piece to appear kinetic to the eye, even when the work is static
About my artwork
I have always been fascinated by balance, that constant battle of wits with inertia and gravity.
I find myself continually attracted to lines that travel parallel and then intersect and separate again.
The chaotic fluid lines formed by nature appeal to the spiritual drive in me. The lines implemented in architectural design patronize my desire for logic.
All of these mindsets in concert result in the sculpture that I’m compelled to build.
Viewing art is often like a new conversation, one always finds something to agree and disagree.
Site specific works are my favorite. I love meeting new people. Learning new perspectives. Seeing new places.
Works are typically suspended, but some are also wall mounted and free standing. I work on site-specific commissions as well as my own studio projects. Sizes vary from one foot in diameter (air space displacement) to 15 feet or more for a single piece.

Materials range from aluminum rod to stainless steel or bronze and other alloy types of rod for the “armatures”. Materials for “ballast” (or positive space) vary from sheet metal to acrylic to found material objects.
Artists I like
Von Kurt Schwitter,
Kasimir Malevich,
Alexander Calder,
Piet Mondrian,
Authur Ganson,
Tom Otterness,
