If you're an artist, what kind of art do you make?

I am...
an artist, working primarily with still photography.
About my artwork
Although my subject matter does vary, I recently completed a series re-enacting the stations of the cross, while examining the idea of faith and, in someways interrogating my own faith. My more enduring work centers on the exploration the suburban experience. Some look at the disconnection of family and the tensions urban/suburban life, ideas of home and homelessness, and the experiences of youth.
Although on one level this series is solemn, almost gloomy, that is not my intention, it is not a critisism of the suburban experience, and as you look into the images there is a realism and reality that takes hold. It is also impotant to note that these images, while they are “snapshots” into the lives of the characters, are infact constructs, tableaux, elaborately staged “events” that, hopefully, capture the essence of the story.
