About my artwork
Through my acknowledgement that lipstick is a medium used to draw attention to the mouth and, therefore, being a strong signifier of erotic consumption, I have chosen to use lipstick as my main medium.
My subject matter is, essentially, a vehicle for conveying a strongly defined atmosphere, an atmosphere of bizarre and deviant beauty: characters with horses heads presiding over sexual scenes, women adorned with feather boas and jewelry; conjuring up images of 19th century decadence, seedy figures lost in vice, where the erotic and the unsavory cohabit a stylized world with a sense of the hyper-real: a city and its corruption.
Artists I like
Egon Schiele, Brassai, Henry Darger, Jean Cocteau, Cindy Sherman, Maurice Sendak, David Lynch, Aubrey Beardsley, Terry Richardson, Roy Stuart, Jan Saudek, Joel-Peter Witkin, Matthew Barney.
Greetings Billy, Love the idea of using lipstick.. I reckon you could push the boundaries with that concept...... very erotic.

Hi Billy, hows the art world for you? I came across an artist called Henry Fuseli who painted Titania Awakes , which i thought you might find interesting. It's exhibited in the Zurich kunsthaus(gallery). Hope all is great! :D
Hey Billy, no Sorry i dont...maybe a gallery in Bath which had a minotaur statue in the window a while back...if i do come across any then i will let you know :D
Hey Billy,
No i agree its not mainstream. Id say it lies on the lines of theatrical art, which i love and look forward to seeing more of. Have you ever thought of writing short scripts to act out, photograph and paint? you could make it like a live story board x
Hey Billy. Thanks for the add. You might like Bristol Sculptor Beth Carter. She sculpts minotaurs and sorts, amazing to be around. http://www.bethcarter.co.uk/about.html
