Hi Bethan, thanks for accepting my friend request. I had a look at your drawings and I think there brilliant. You have a real feel for tone and mark making contrasting with good expressions on your portraits. If you got any shows in London I would be interested in seeing them. I had one recently at the Ashtead Peace Memorial hall, which was a hudge success. Sold lots of paintings and was planning on having another one at the Farnham Maltings at Christmas time. Will keep you posted on that one. All the best!

Yeah it's not really surprising, I'm not expecting to be the next Damian Hirst or owt. Just want to make a few bob from it, get people talking and asking questions about something that isn't the usual artistic fare like celebrity culture or BLOOD AND GUTS AND DEATH AND RABBITS or whatever.

But I say again, thankyou for crushing my enthusiasm. Way to go Beth. WAY TO GO, BETH.

I might be going down to London in the next month or so with my mate, so keep me posted - I'll come and have a look if I can get to it!

Did you get anything from the Nexus show? Like did it open any doors or get you any contacts or owt?

Proposal eh? Similar to the one we did for the degree show, professional frameworks?

How long did you have your stuff up for? I'll probably keep to my theme from uni of private military companies, that's what most of the stuff I've been doing has revolved around anyway. Nothing too risque or off the wall I wouldn't have thought.

Are you doing any more exhibitions up here soon?

Well, I saw it advertised on the website of my local newspaper so I thought it'd be interesting to do. They're asking for work that looks at the godly kinda side of various parish churches in Manchester. When I was doing my foundation year we all went to Manc Cathedral and spent a day inside it, drawing and taking pics and everything. They're asking for work based on personal experience (only A4 size mind you, so pretty small), and when I was there I spent a good hour drawing one particular statue so I might go back and do it again. It's not til autumn so I've got a while yet. How do you go about putting work up at Nexus? How did you three do it, just get in touch with them? Do they put restrictions on themes or mediums?

Ta muchly. Had a look on your personal site and found this, looks pretty good! I've done nothing solidly art related for ages so I'm getting back into it. A few drawings here and there, some photography but nothing solid. I've joined a group of artists in Bolton (www.neoartists.co.uk) - Linda Edon is a member, remember her from our course? And I'm gonna submit something to an exhibition that Manchester Cathedral are holding later this year. I know I'm not the churchiest (yes it's a word!.. maybe) of people but it's something to do innit!
