I am...: BEARSPACE began as a project space in a previous public house ‘The Brown Bear’ on Deptford High Street. The gallery originally started from a belief in the potential of Deptford as an ‘arts destination’ and the enormous degree of artistic talent and self motivation of artists in Southeast London, recently descibed by the New York Times as ‘a boisterous concoction of blue-collar aesthetics and intermittent hipsterism’

About my artwork: Since that time the gallery and area has grown into a vibrant hotbed of activity. BEARSPACE artists are selected for their response to contemporary culture, philosophy, with a conceptual and narrative framework to their work. BEARSPACE prides itself on discovering really interesting artists early on in their career, and promoting them through gallery exhibitions, art fairs, curated exhibitions and collaborations.

Artists I like: Isabel Rock, Divyesh Bhanderi, Jenny Wiener, Sally Spinks, Lisa Slominski, Thomas Helyar-Cardwell, Paul Caton, Jorg Obergfell

Interests: Hangin gout at other Deptford Galleries, 'The Agency,' 'The Old Police Station' and 'SE8,' putting together the Deptford Art Map http://www.deptfordartmap.com and popping off to Venice where we hope the Champagne is still flowing!
