I am...: a young artist at the beginning of my career looking into ways of gaining experience and broadening my practise.

About my artwork: My paintings are often psychological portraits which incorporate a large proportion of found visual material from past and present alongside riffs on the myths and work of other artists. The aim is to produce contemporary scene paintings that respond to the complex current social climate and the affects this has on the individual.

Artists I like: Mattias Weischer, Titian, Goya, Bonnard, Neo Rauch, Peter Doig, Michael Andrews, Rui Matsunaga.

Interests: Alongside painting I have a huge interest in music, films, books (I'm currently reading The Flounder by Gunter Grass, other favourites of mine are The Quiet American, Slaughterhouse 5 and Catch 22). I also love walking, particularly up a hill or on a beach on a clear winters day.

Open to all artists in all fine arts media we seek to recognize outstanding quality and diversity in the arts.
