Hi Ambuja, thanks for the pics and organizing the screening, it looks great! xoxo
It was a fun day...
Hi, we had a couple of small private screenings of Vol. 1 in Marty's Berkeley studio, on June 6 and 13, the Saturday evenings during the East Bay Open Studios event. Open Studios, during the day, were well-attended, but corpse screenings were below what we anticipated, on what proved to be a busy two weekends at the end of school. Nonetheless, it was revealing to finally see the project projected at a decent size, and feedback, overall, was positive. It's a smallish space, and this was the first time we'd set up a video projector, so this proved to be a good excersize for further events.

On July 18, while fellow corpser Michael Chang will be visiting, we plan to hold another exhibition, which will include 2-3 more projections showing the "Fragments" project, as well as smaller screens, surveilance camera screens, and the large projection, one which we'll rotate throughout the day Vol. 1 with other short films and time-lapse videos. Following the daytime exhibition will be a party, at which we hope to have a 10:00 concert by a local cult band. To these events, we'll be inviting several people for, hopefully, a steady stream of visitors dropping in at different times throughout the day and night.

Also, in August, we'd like to try and do a Skype/Vimeo presentation with ExCorpse members around the world, and present the corpses and other viral projects along with Q&A. More on this idea later, but could be very cool if it was a multi-location event, especially if you are doing the residency in São Paulo. (Is that happening?)

Here is a picture of Marty in the space, while we're setting up:
Hi Brad,

Thanks a lot for your report! You are full of good ideas, very inspiring. I am still thinking of how to do a similar thing in my house - opening the house in Sao Paulo is a bit more trickier than doing so in Berkeley ;))... but it will happen.

About the skype thing, I think is a great idea and yes, we should do it. The residency is definitely happening, but only beginning of 2010 (mid January til mid March).

Thanks again to you and Marty,

Kika
Thanks, Brad! It's great to see how single channel video can be adapted to very different installation spaces and audiences. Looking forward to hearing more next month. Sending my best to Marty, too.
xxJan
