I decided to share with you guys (in the hope that others also start sharing) some of the call for participations that I come across.

I do a lot of research to find the best festivals, the ones that enjoy art videos, are competitive and also don't charge entry fee. About the residencies, the best ones don't also charge the artist, or even give some kind of support.

So please, dear members of Video Artists, let's stick together and help each other find these opportunities!

Thanks to everyone who posted links. I just re-read the whole thread and there is a lot of useful info here.

I just found this, which I don't think has been mentioned yet. Does anyone know this organization, is it worth submitting?

And another one which I don't think has been mentioned:

Another interesting link: this site seems to work as a common submission platform for several festivals. Again I don't remember seeing it here, sorry if I'm wrong.

Videoart.net, the international network for underground video art & experimental film is excited to announce a call for entries for its first annual festival, Video Art & Experimental Film Festival.

The festival will take place on My 22nd, at Tribeca Cinemas,, 54 Varick Street, New York , NY.

Videoart.net's Festival aspires to shed new light on the definition of the video art genre. The festival will showcase a diverse cross-section of contemporary video artists and experimental filmmakers. In the upcoming festival, Videoart.net intends to modernize and expand video art from its traditional birthplace in galleries and museums, to integrate the medium into the broader context of today's post-digital and internet revolution.

A panel of nationally recognized and distinguished professionals within the film and art world will review the qualifying submissions and also participate in a panel discussion about the intersection of video art and independent film.

Deadline for submissions is the 10th of April 2010. To submit your work visit videoart.net
