Category: Dreams and the Supernatural...

Spiders drip and fall onto the page, the nib scratches the white paper sheet.

Make good a difficult tool, work with it's flaws not against.

Embrace the imperfection, encourage it!

Amplify it!

Rain starts to drown the spiders, one, two, three...

Trickles run, run, run, leaving black-grey gravity fed trails to the end of the narrative.

I try to influence them by tipping the page one way then another.

Trying to keep sight of the possible end whilst not really knowing where this new line is taking me.

My eye follows the solution as it follows an uncertain path.

Figure to Ground relationships have become ambiguous, background and foreground become entwined, space folds in on itself. The narrative is broken, fractured, punctuated by random occurances.

Eventually I am left with a semi erased or (at times) vague trace of my original intention, some strong but incomlpete lines, washes, tide marks, some original blots scratches and scribbles that escaped the effects of the leaking sky, the pull of gravity and my struggle with it.

Words and images fall in part to the precipitation, which is now dancing it's way through, editing and revising the work for me.

Thus completing the scene.

How are you today?

'Know Yourself'

Haha! "How are you?" has never seemed a more loaded question!
