well so far i've been fantasizing about a few things, but not quite sure which direction i'll go. i've got some prints being framed into some kind of light boxes so that may give the place some ambiance. then i'm working on some new paintings so who knows what i'll end up doing. could be something entirely different by the end of june. i know i want to show this one sculpture because it hasn't had a showing yet and something like (the audience for)nada motel would seem more open to it.

I'm doing this: sitting in my room drawing faces from magazines onto nice plywood sheets. I did this last year with a plexi-glass window across the door way so spectators couldn't actually come in my room; they just got to see the quiet boredom that an artist cultivates during his crafting sessions. My room is in the TownHouse.

Amy, my wifey, will be opening the Nada Lounge in an El Cortez room. Yes, a bar. She's working on her theme for the place. Originally, she talked about a lounge for spouses who got drug to this art event. I like that idea, the non-artsy peeps hang out there till the wives/husbands are done looking around.

I'm bringing up some of my digital art and artwork by 3 other Sacto artistes! I'm thinking about getting a cheap-o DVD player and hooking it up to the TV and showing some DVDs I haven't seen yet, like Brian Eno's 14 Video Paintings and Contacts.3, which is about photographers. I'll also probably bring my little laptop and of course my camera and maybe sit in the room and make art some of the time... maybe even bring a printer with me and do on the spot stuff.... and maybe bring a blank canvas and invite all you other artists to add something to it and make it a community art project...

It's crazy that I'm going out of town and won't be back until the 24th... next year I'll make sure that vacation plans are not in June ;~D
