First I'd like to explain why I'm asking you to respond to the following questionnaire. I use to write about artists' concerns without being an artist myself. As a result I have to rely on whatever I hear and read. That's why I need your comments to verify this second-hand knowledge. I already gained a great deal of information so far which frequently contradicts some of the truisms floating about. Hence you're my primary source and I'd very much appreciate if you'd take the time to reply to the following questions. It's about the Internet's role as a marketing tool for artists.
1. How many images of works of art do you look at at a time generally (just one, a few, many)?
2. Do you inspect an single piece longer, as long or shorter compared to facing it offline?
3. Do reproductions on a screen represent the respective object properly?
4. Did you ever see three-dimensional art like sculpture or an installation as a three-dimensional animation on an artist's homepage?
5. How often do you find pricemarks of artworks online (frequently, rarely, never)?
6. Are your own prices visible online?
7. Do you know or have you heard of collectors buying online?
8. Do you know any platforms or networks on the Internet where artists present and/or sell work? 8.1. Which ones?
9. Do you think their usually great variety – also in terms of quality - is positive or negative?
10. Can you think of something the Internet should provide in order to make it easier for artists to present their work?
Please answer right here or in case you prefer privacy send an email to Charlotte.Lindenberg@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance.
