I am a Japanese ceramic artist.
In the information society, I am sometimes set a back by two contradicting feelings:
I recognise the scale of the world in the borderless age, while at the same time I feel embarrassed because the world has become so small. This makes me try hard to identify myself. Should I become a SAMURAI with armor called tradition?
Many people, who saliently take view of " orientalism", would enjoy it, although it is ridiculous.
My answer is NO. The tradition is the base on which we make the future, and I would like to weave the future with the flexible materials called tradition.
Hello. :)
My name is Omana and I'm student in the National School for Fine Arts in Bulgaria. I joined this page, because I'm very interested in japanese culture, printmaking, posters and design. It's amazing to be part of Artreview! I hope to find friends here.
