I FEEL WITH ALL THE TRENDY ARTBEING CREATED, REAL ART IS HARD TO FIND. BUT TRUE ART WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME.

Art is most definitely not lost. I think many academics, curators, and writers are lost. What is highly touted by these people is the same old flat, banal, cartoonish crap that masquerades as art. Actual talent and artistic skill is villified in favor of that which could be produced by an aardvaark. Today, a plastic dog tuerd covered with gliiter would be celebrated over a work by the likes of Rembrandt. These self-important clods believe they are at the top of the art food chain, and they somehow have the right to say what is good and what is not. Without the artist, they are nothing. Art is not dead...but believeing what most of these clowns say about it makes it appear so.

The art it's funniest when people thought is lost cause they have the opportunity to create, but only if they have an open creative mind, the principal thing is everyone are lost, every thing is lost, but there is no problem in that. at least we can create illusion and feel good for a moment! maybe if the art doesn't lost, it would not have sense to do it

Art is not lost.

Perhaps 'contemporary art' is not lost enough. Critics, philosophers, writers used to struggle to keep up with avant garde visual artists. Now, because of 'contemporary curation' these functionaries set the terms of reference for producing 'the contemporary'.

To stretch the discussion, making work has for me always involved a sense of getting lost and orientating myself anew.

If art is lost, where should it be?
Basingstoke?

This is a non question and with that observation I'll take my leave.

Art is never lost it is the sensitivity for it which has been playing hide & seek for centuries.

Oh, by the way...I have to admit, I was lost on more than one occasion, but it always turned out to be a great experience.

My driving test took all of five minutes. The first green light I hit, someone was speeding through the red in front of me, I had to swerve between two cars and him and managed to squeek through while blowing my horn. The examiner was pale and sweaty but turned to me and said, "Lets get back, you just passed". So, in a way, I guess you and I are both determined, in control and we know how to get around the fuckups in the world.
