The local where I live over the local where my mind thinks it lives is that interfere with my art.

i feel as if it does make a difference. but the influence of the locality is rapidly diminishing through increasing access to information. This does however not mean that everything is becoming similar. It means people get the opportunity to develop themselves through picking subjects that are the closest to their liking and assemble around them with like-minded people.

I do however hope that historical awareness of an artist stays untouched by these developments. The history and the experiences of the artist should to some extend reverb through his/her work. The nature that surrounds you when you are exploring your artistic instincts colors your final output. And even in the contemporary climate with limitless access to information and the diminishing diversity through popular media outlets, you can hardly argue that your experiences in your (real) life help shape the form of your productions.
