For me it was just the thing I did best. I can't remember not wanting to be an artist of some kind.

I was encouraged by my family even though the chance of making money at it was not very high. I was always in a dreamworld! Thankfully I earn a bit now that I'm older and grey.

I also wanted to be an architect but painting won since I wasn't particularly good at mathematics. which is part of architecture to some degree.

I was born in Russia and am now living in the UK. People often ask me "Where are you from?", so far I was told that I am from Poland, France, Malta, Spain and Ireland... I would like to be from everywhere...

I have always admired arabian art, particularly the geometric art, which has inspired much of my own art.

I have always believed that the artist job is to connect art to the community. Not just locally but globally. Thats what I started IRUBNY. While it began in NY it have become a model for art to connect us to our environment and each other. I have collected thousands of rubbing ( frottage) and am creating a urban language of community spirit.

I am from Chile and I believe art should certainly serve as a means of sharing our personal cultural aesthetics with others :)

There is nothing the world needs more than a bridge between cultures. We have to start somewhere!

Thanks Ezzaldin.
