Call for entries - Artist in Residency in Finland for 2010-2011

The center itself is a hundred years old school transformed in to a dynamic working and conference center for the professionals in the field of art and culture. The center creates a platform for interconnected art and science productions, organizes contemporary art exhibitions, other cultural happenings and offers working and living space for short and long term working. The ´artist in residence` program brings together curators, artists and producers in mid or advanced career stages from all countries and disciplines (fine arts, multimedia and video art, new technologies, literature, theatre, dance, music, etc.)

The residency program aims to create a portal for dialogue between the actors in the cultural field, strengthen the connection between contemporary art atributors and international collaborators, offer high quality culture experiences for audience both in the urban area as in the provinces and bring closer the cultural exchange between countries. Particularly the program supports residents in their personal research, creative explorations and professional growth.
