I'm an artist involved in a series of live art works called 7 quiet ACTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

I'm also the architect of the promotional campaign as well.  As this series of works are sited in the artists home which rented from Bow Arts under license from social housing agency Poplar Harca, we have to abide by strict rules of how we conduct our events.  Events may not be public, these are private homes, they may not be advertised as such because of licensing laws and also fears of them being overrun and disturbing neighbours, so of course we have taken to the highways and byways of the internet to promote but without advertising.

Oddly enough Twitter seems in certain ways to be the most creative way because of its simplicity, the blog of course is a site where we can post our thoughts feelings but it is also a vehicle of conveying basic information about the shows.  Facebook is highly formulaic, but very, very useful.

I wondered if anybody had other experiences of this kind of promotion and engaging with it as a creative practice as well as a viral marketing tool.

Many thanks

Elizia Volkmann
